Special guest, Mahnaz, to host a ‘Meet and Greet‘ at Richters of Palm Beach on Wednesday, February 13, 2019
By Brandy Guthrie
Committed jewelry aficionado and champion of well-curated vintage, the Mahnaz Collection will be in Palm Beach Feb 13-18. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Mahnaz, a former foreign policy expert turned jewelry historian will escape NYC’s frigid temperatures to introduce her curated collection to Palm Beach. Typically available for viewing by-appointment only at her gallery on East 57th Street, a selection from exquisite jewels will be available to Palm Beachers at Richters on Worth Avenue from Feb 13-18.
Launched in 2012 by Mahnaz Ispahani Bartos, the Mahnaz Collection collects and sells original, influential, fine vintage, designer and artist-made jewelry, primarily from the mid-to-late twentieth century. The jewels are authentic North and South American and European design classics. Often handmade and rich in color, these innovative and finely crafted jewels are bold, yet timeless in style. Important design concepts, explored in precious and semi-precious materials, shape the collection.
Showcased during Mahnaz’s visit will be a variety of the mid-to-late twentieth century designer and artist-made jewelry on which the gallery has built its reputation. Featured in the pages of Vogue, Town & Country, and Harper’s Bazaar, and on the shelves of Barneys New York, these often handmade bold designs have been assembled with a scholar’s touch. The collection is a blend of rare jewelry by historic design houses, as well as by independent artists, with a certain affinity for British jewelers from the 1960s and 70s, along with contemporary Hopi, Navajo, and Pueblo modernist jewelry.
Features include select vintage and modern jewels by Boucheron, Chaumet, Cazzaniga, Hemmerle, David Morris, Kutchinsky, Burle Marx, Nanna Ditzel, Andrew Grima, Charles Loloma, and Richard Chavez.
Follow Mahnaz Collection for regular reminders on why you do not want to miss out!

Tortoiseshell: A Timeless Trend
From bags to shoes to glasses, tortoise shell is seemingly everywhere, and I’m not complaining. Especially after finally finding its way into my personal jewelry collection! I recently popped into one of my favorite shops, Sequin, on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach and couldn’t resist these faux tortoise shell earrings. Not only are they made to look like the coveted tortoise shell, they also have coral colored gems which accentuate the tortoise shell design. What girl doesn’t want to mimic Grace Kelly or Audrey Hepburn, who sported the timeless black and brown spots on a variety of their accessories, right? And the best part—they are super lightweight so they can be worn comfortably all day long!
A rule of thumb for seamless inclusion into your wardrobe: simply consider tortoise shell a neutral. A maximalist neutral that will be sure to catch everyone’s eye!

PapiChulo Tacos, bringing flavor to Jupiter
To me, the best food is the freshest with the fewest ingredients. Simple enough, right? This brings me to everyone’s favorite Tuesday night fare–the taco. Everyone is sure to have an opinion on where to find the best of this deceptively simple dish. This is where I return to my “freshest and fewest” philosophy. To be sure, there are plenty of taco spots that I happily visit to satisfy my cravings, but there can be only one spot I call the best!
Fortunately, I have found my personal El Dorado, courtesy of the cozy and authentic PapiChulo Tacos. Recently opened, and nestled near the Jupiter Lighthouse, the eatery attracted me with its creative cocktails and menu promising authentic Mexican-style street food. Homemade tortillas? Check. Mexican Shrimp Ceviche? Of course. Housemade Sangria? Yes, please!
And yes, I had the perfectly prepared street corn smothered gloriously in chipotle mayo, along with the quesadilla stuffed with cheese straight from Oaxaca. So many salivating choices on my path to the main event. For my first visit, I tried Carne Asada, Pollo, and Repollitos (crispy brussel sprouts with secret sauce and queso frecso, YUM!). Each was to die for in their own unique way, but I’m wondering what it would take to get a bottle of the chimichurri sauce! Hands down, dare I say, best tacos I have had in Palm Beach County. I plan on returning ASAP to taste what I could not manage to order before being rolled out. Get a peek at their menu and specials here: https://www.papichulotacos.com/menu. Tell them Brandy sent you!
Tastefully Starting the Palm Beach New Year
Three days of exceptional craftmanship and design: Temple St. Clair (Thursday, Jan. 17th) Oscar Heyman (Friday and Saturday, Jan. 18th and 19th)
Temple’s fine jewelry collection is recognized for iconic rock crystal amulets, triple granulation and archer’s granule; all are signature brand elements with a nod to the designer’s classical foundation. With her High Jewelry collection, St. Clair celebrates a connoisseur level of gemstones with one-of-a-kind pieces born out of an ongoing quest for the rarest stones in the world such as richly patterned Lightening Ridge Australian Black Opal, electric blue Brazilian Paraiba Tourmaline, fiery African Tsavorite, and her iconic Royal Blue Moonstone.
Uncompromising in her choice of materials and execution, St. Clair explores themes that are meaningful to her through a lens of whimsy and discovery. Her critically acclaimed, Mythical Creatures from The Golden Menagerie, made its début at the Louvre Museum in Paris in January 2015. The second chapter of the Golden Menagerie trilogy, Wings of Desire, was presented at the Salon: Art + Design at the Park Avenue Armory in November 2015. The final chapter, The Big Game, was exhibited in December 2016 at the prestigious DeLorenzo Gallery in New York City.
Hamilton Jewelers on Worth Avenue invites you to a special Styling Event at their Worth Avenue location Thursday January 17th through Saturday the 19th. Brand Ambassadors from world renowned designers Temple St. Clair and Oscar Heyman will be on site presenting their newest collections.
Oscar Heyman, from the Russian Court to the Golden Globes Red Carpet
Oscar Heyman & Brothers has been a family business since its establishment in 1912. . The company’s founding brothers, Oscar
and Nathan, apprenticed at a workshop that produced high-style ornaments for the Russian court jeweler Peter Carl Fabergé before leaving Eastern Europe for New York. Within a few years, they established their own firm, distinctive for dynamic and contemporary designs, fine craftsmanship, technological sophistication and high-quality materials. Eventually, the other Heyman brothers joined the growing business, which remains entirely autonomous—maintaining in-house production of jewelry from inception through completion—to this day. Oscar Heyman has evolved from a behind the scenes manufacturer to a stand-alone brand, known and appreciated by jewelry connoisseurs and celebrities from around the world. The evidence that Oscar Heyman creates heirloom-quality jewelry, both in style and in function, is in the company’s storied history.

Stubbs and Wootton keeps up the Merry Pace
By Maribel Alvarez
So for us avid Stubbs collectors, this is the one pair we have to add to our collection. A no-brainer! You don’t have to don an ugly red sweater to show you are in on the Christmas spirit, slip on these Holiday Stubbs and keep your merry spirit chic!
As far as I can remember, last minute shopping always became a problem for me. Trying to find the personal gift with so little time. But then my daughter would remind me “Go Stubbs!” I found I would save myself a last minute anxiety attack by asking the question “Is there anyone on my list who wouldn’t LOVE a pair of Stubbs to add to their collection?” If so, I haven’t met that person yet…
A Family Affair
I adopted Stubbs as the treat I would offer myself for years to come. My family followed suit. My children grew up respecting the brand so much the palm tree needlework embroidery became my daughter’s choice for her groom and wedding party at her St. Barth’s wedding; the velvet slippers were my son’s choice for his black tie ensemble and my late boyfriend joined all the men in my family requesting ‘a new pair of Stubbs’ every holiday.
Personalized Gifting
The beauty about this ever so chic timeless gift is you don’t have to special order a ‘theme’. The perfect theme is probably there, but if you do want to customize, you can do that too!
The Holiday Slippers are a no-brainer for the partying friend.

Capri’s Blue Campanella, an iconic bell brings good hues
By Christian Sims
This winter the Holiday Blues take on a whole new meaning. A symbol for peace, the color blue has the power to transform and put the mind at ease. It also has the power to take us far away. Whether it be the blue waters, skies or grotto, something about the vivid tone has us dreaming of the Isle of Capri.
Born out of Capri is Chantecler. Known for their timeless elegance, Chantecler is renown for their treasured Campanella charms. Featured above is the iconic Chantecler Campanella. The Campanelle’s rich history began with a legend that says its beautiful chime grants wishes to all who hear it. Ever since, it’s been a precious jewel for all who visit the island and a lovely creative influence for Chantecler. The 18K gold charm and sapphire Campanella charm was my favorite Holiday Blue pick!
The Campanella became a must-have jewel for all the international Divas and princesses who chose the Blue Island a their perfect getaway. International travelers who get to Capri and, like everyone, fall in love with it still treasure this small token of happiness. Crafted in precious stones pavé settings, in gold and diamonds, in hard and semi-precious stones, the Campanelle are small goldsmith’s masterpieces to be worn and collected, for a new look every day. These iconic treasures are symbolic and represent peace and joy to all who hear their pleasing ring.
For those who appreciate the meaning behind Chantecler pieces, but looking to spend under $1500, Hamilton offers one of a kind Chantecler pieces, such as the Anima 70 Turquoise Bracelet, a delicate accent designed to celebrate the brand’s iconic colors and namesake.
Give the gift of joy and peace with a Chantecler gift, a favorite of Palm Beachers Whether it’s earrings, charms, bracelets or pendants, their iconic pieces and colorful hues radiate the same unique beauty that have so many flocking to Capri’s gorgeous landscape. Your gift is sure to grace its wearer with feelings of light, happiness and good favor this holiday season. A piece of Capri is available for everyone, regardless of your budget.
