Born in Calcutta India, Ayesha Mayadas spent time as a textile engineer before pursuing her dream of working with metals and sculpture at the Rochester Institute of Technology.Ayesha believes line, along with form, weight and balance are key components that ensure a piece of jewelry resonates with the human form.  Her wearable pieces crafted in silver, gold and platinum pay meticulous attention to line as the character and direction of a line has the power to communicate emotion and states of mind.  As she states, “The quality of a line is equal to an artists’ signature.”

Her stunning necklaces, earrings and wedding rings will be featured at the upcoming 14th Annual Palm Beach Fine Craft Show taking place at the Palm Beach County Convention Center February 16th through 19th.  This year, the highly curated Palm Beach Fine Craft Show will be produced by Palm Beach Show Group and co-located with their popular Palm Beach Jewelry, Art & Antique Show.

The porcelain sculptures of Ray Gross are well-known, especially to Palm Beachers as highly collectible.  Often mistaken for the “real thing”, the hyper-realistic sculptures have a pop-art flair that reflects the artist’s humor and outlook.  Ray’s “Louie, Louie” porcelain handbag sculpture is a particularly popular piece with collectors from the Hamptons to Palm Beach.  The artist, sculptor and designer was raised in South Florida, and he is a member of the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County, and serves on the faculty at the Armory Arts Center Complex in West Palm Beach.

The prestigious Palm Beach Fine Craft Show is making its triumphant return to the Palm Beach County Convention Center February 16th through 19th.

Jewelry by A. Macsai

This four-day juried event is known to collectors as a must-see showcase for fine craft artisans to display and sell their innovative and original works.  These “latest” collections in contemporary art and design include glass, ceramics, sculpture, furniture, and mixed media, fashion, jewelry, and more. Many of these artists have works included in private and corporate collections all over the world.  This year brings several new aspects to the popular and well-respected Palm Beach Fine Craft Show.  For the first time, the Show will be hosted simultaneously with the renowned Palm Beach Jewelry, Art & Antique Show which runs February 15th through 21st at the Palm Beach County Convention Center.

Last year’s elegant Palm Beach Fine Craft Show hosted 135 of the nation’s top contemporary craft artists, offering their latest celebrated works in a comfortable, indoor setting. In keeping with its expanding audience and     beginning a new tradition, the 2017 Palm Beach Fine Craft Show will showcase more artists than ever including the finest artisans internationally as exhibitors for the first time.

Mary Mahoney has been an institution in Palm Beach for three decades.  Today the shop is not only a staple for Palm Beach hostesses in the know who master the ‘art of entertaining’, but is also a source of inspiration for anyone in search of ideas, themes for their next event, and gifts for their hosts.

Black River Caviar seems to be an ongoing favorite among her regular clients and visiting ‘house guests’ looking for the perfect gift for their host/hostess. So much so, Mary added a designated Black River Caviar section to include a fabulous display of Caviar servers to accompany the exquisite assortment of Siberian and Oscietra caviar.

Black River Caviar, a favorite among Palm Beach residents and exclusive purveyor to Seabourn Cruise Lines, is served at some of the finest restaurants across the Globe.  Harvested in the pristine waters of the Rio Negro with excellent properties for sturgeon breeding, the environment mimics the real flow of a river in a completely natural area, free of contaminants and pollution.

A crowd of more than 300 art enthusiasts, celebrities and socialites attended the exclusive gala and after-party for CANVAS, the outdoor museum show, that is gearing up for its second year using Downtown West Palm Beach as it’s “cultural canvas” on November 11-20.  The party took place October 22 at the CANVAS VIP Pop-up Lounge at 1016 Clare Avenue in West Palm Beach.  The event was co-chaired by Bettina Anderson, Lizzi Bickford and Chris Leavitt of Million Dollar listing fame.

DJ Adam Lipson kept the energy upbeat throughout the night with special performances by Sean’s Dance Factory and four-time Grammy nominee, Ja Rule.

Guests enjoyed drinks courtesy of Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Perrier® Sparkling Natural Mineral Water and a sit-down dinner from Wellington Hospitality Group.  Proceeds from the event benefit CANVAS Art Charities, a non-profit organization dedicated to funding visual arts to enrich public spaces and foster social and economic outcomes.

The competition was fierce during the live auction as guests had the chance to bid on sought after items including a Cuba Experience trip hosted by CANVAS founder, Nicole Henry; a one-week lease of the newest, sleekest, Aston Martin; a VIP package to the Kentucky Derby; and tickets for two to Hamilton with five-star accommodations at The Plaza Hotel, just to name a few of the outstanding items available for bid. Ja Rule went home with a one-of-a-kind original painting by Pipsqueak Was Here!!!, part of the 2016 official CANVAS artist lineup.

clasico extrafino (2) “These hats are not only the real deal,” says local Palm Beacher Richie Horowitz, “they are a fabulous deal! I’ve bought many Montecristi hats over the years, and these prices are less than half what I paid in St. Bart’s and London.”

Trivia information:  Why are they called Panama Hats?

Roosevelt_and_the_Canal smLegend has it that President Theodore Roosevelt brought the hats to popularity in North America when photos were taken of

him wearing one while visiting Panama. But that’s not the only story. As the hats were shipped through the Isthmus canal in Panama before they hit the shores around the world, someone mistakenly thought the hats came from the country famous for its canal. Who knew one person’s misunderstanding would lead to the rest of the world following suit?
