Lourdes de Guardiola’s gypsy roots resulting from her equestrian jetset lifestyle have found a home this season at the Esplanade. Located on the second floor above Gucci, Lourdes has transformed a blank canvas, creating a haven for linen from Bali, Swimwear from Brazil, jewelry from Argentina, perfect beach hats from Ecuador and handmade leather bags made in America. “While traveling the world as a professional show jumper, I have been able to cultivate relationships with global designers.  I’ve found inspiration within their cultures and have been able to create this space based upon these experiences” says Lourdes de Guardiola.

A private trunk show for Alvin Valley, took place before Milou’s official opening.  In spite of it being under the radar, the success led to a permanent representation for the King of Pants at Milou.  Lourdes will be hosting more events throughout the season.  She has her pulse on the new upcoming designers from South America  looking to make their mark in the Palm Beach market.

Lourdes also intends to utilize the newly revamped Esplanade at 150 Worth, hosting a runway fashion show later on in the season.

After years of being underwhelmed by drab colors and patterns in the men’s department, Wyatt Koch embarked on a journey to liven up wardrobes with his bold, colorful button down shirts for men. Wyatt Ingraham‘s recent launch party took place at EmKo in West Palm Beach.  Guests were wowed by a high energy fashion show, wild costumed characters and racks of Wyatt Ingraham’s electrifying designs.

The crowd erupted when Wyatt, donning a vibrant yellow blazer and his own colorful shamrock button down, gave an energetic champagne toast after the runway show, describing the inspiration behind his designs and thanking a number of people for their all of their help and support. Armory Art Center prepares for Purple Reign Event on January 26th

The world of popular culture was rocked in 2016 with the unexpected loss of several major Rock Icons.  Nowhere was the loss of the artist Prince Rogers Nelson known better simply as Prince felt more deeply than in his hometown of Minneapolis.  In a nod to the trendsetting aspects of Prince’s multi-decade career, and out of respect for Prince’s indomitable style, Minneapolis St. Paul Magazine joined forces with the Minneapolis Art Institute to create a Fashion Designer tribute based on Prince’s musical hits. 

Billed as a Special Kiss to Prince, the 2016 Fashionopolis Event featured runway designs inspired by the one-or-a-kind hit maker, Prince, who was known as an Icon of fashion, style, music and creativity.  Eight fashion designers, from Minneapolis to Manhattan to Amsterdam, including “fan favorite” from television’s Project Runway, Christopher Straub, created ensembles to celebrate the Pop Life of the enigmatic superstar who’s pioneering style was flamboyant, sexy, and always impossibly cool.

Winner of seven Grammy awards, a Golden Globe and an Academy Award, Prince was one of the best-selling musicians of all-time.  Hits included Little Red Corvette, 1999, Purple Rain, Kiss, and When Doves Cry.

Those of us who appreciate authenticity and quality didn’t get enough of Yovanni Mero Pachay’s beautiful Panama hats  during his first visit to Palm Beach.  Earlier this year, the fifth generation Master Weaver  demonstrated his unique millinery skills and displayed a selection of Montecristi hats at Lars and Nadine Bolander’s Studio 1696.   Due to high demand, Yovanni is returning, this time on the Avenue at Sequin

EMILIO PUCCI Spring/Summer Sale–

I’m one of those who wait with bated breath for the end of May…  Not only because it means my summer European getaway is around the corner, but also because I am one of the lucky ones who get ‘that call’… Julie from EMILIO PUCCI on Worth Avenue knows I drool every time I walk by the boutique, praying that come May, those preferred pieces will be there.

I opted for the mosaic after much deliberation with every client who walked in); scalloped printed shorts which make your thighs look slim; fabulous one-pieces (I’ve decided to go with one pieces these days…); the one thing I 34612461AA_13_fLOVED and didn’t get– a whimsical chiffon dress which could do double duty as summer night and formal wear.

 

I’ve since repacked my suitcase for a long weekend birthday celebration in St. Barth’s this week, My suitcase is more colorful and I am so much happier!!
