La Clara has sold fifty percent of released residences

Great Gulf, an internationally award winning Canadian real estate developer, celebrated the groundbreaking of LA CLARA,  just over two months ago.  Since then, the elegant luxury condominium designed by world-renowned architect Siamak Hariri, has sold 50% of its released residences.

Take a look at the one minute video below, and you will experience what Siamak Hariri refers to as ‘unfolding horizons.’  The flowing spatial interiors are carried out throughout the common areas and continue to roll seamlessly into the lush exteriors, into what seems like an endless horizon.  The perfect balance of clarity and luxury; privacy and surroundings.

Thoughtful consideration has gone into matching the decorative and functional interiors with standout amenities.  La Clara includes a state-of-the-art fitness center with yoga studio, dual spas with steam rooms, saunas, and private massage treatment rooms, an outdoor lap pool, landscaped garden and walking area, dog spa, club lounge with dining area, performance and catering kitchen, theatre, conference room and business center.  A wine tasting and climate-controlled storage area, 24/7 front desk staff, assigned self-parking, and valet will also be available.

Architectural Pedigree

“The building was designed from the inside out, seeking exposures that have nothing but sky and water,” said Siamak Hariri co-founder of Hariri Pontarini Architects. “The objective was to provide every owner with a significant, expansive corner window and large terrace. Performance came first, then structure, and Great Gulf has supported my vision.”Siamak Hariri has been recognized with 60 major architectural awards for designs including the McKinsey & Company Canadian headquarters, the Tom Patterson Theatre for the Stratford Festival, and the Baha’ i Temple of South America. He has a reputation for his profound interest in light, form, site, material, and craft. Light and clarity are hallmarks of many of his works. This project, with its intensive and expansive light, characteristic of Florida, was a compelling opportunity to approach luxury. (View Siamak Hariri’s Sacred Spaces influences West Palm’s Skyline)

Siamak Hariri’s aesthetic reverence and deep respect for sacred spaces results in works of enduring value

It was only natural that award-winning Canadian builder and developer Great Gulf would partner with world renowned architect Siamak Hariri for the design of its first luxury condominium in Florida, La Clara, slated for completion 2021.  Great Gulf is a vertically integrated firm in business since 1975 and has 18 projects under construction in North America; this is its first foray into Florida. Hariri is internationally renowned and feted with 60 major architectural awards.

Among Siamak Harari’s most notable masterpieces is the Bahá’í Temple of South America  which he discussed on a TED talk, receiving over 1.8 million views on line. A graduate of Yale School of Architecture, Hariri, age 53, has in his own words, a “profound interest in light, form, site, material, and craft.”  In 2003, Siamak answered an open call for the design of the first Bahá’í Temple in South America, a continental temple, an extraordinary milestone for the Bahá’í community. Siamak needed to create a circular sacred space, with 9 sides, 9 entrances and 9 paths to the temple from all directions welcoming people from all faiths and background. With no models to draw from, he asked himself “how do you design sacred space today?  How do you define what’s sacred today?” He found his answer in Bahá’í quote which led him to illumination from within.  See his TED Talk presentation below.

Siamak Hariri focused on illumination — from the temple’s form, which captures the movement of the sun throughout the day, to the iridescent, luminous stone and glass used to construct it. This same illumination and is the inspiration behind Harari’s design of La Clara.

La Clara– Blending sacred space with community

Like all great communities, La Clara offers the perfect balance between privacy and surroundings.; clarity and luxury.  Light, sacred space, clarity and community are evident throughout:  La Clara’s deep private balconies face south-east toward the water and over-sized windows are throughout the residences.  The flowing spatial interiors, are carried throughout the entertainment room, fitness center and all common areas.   Outdoor amenities include swimming pool with cabanas and a dining area.

“La Clara takes great advantage of Hariri’s vision and talent, particularly with regard to the light and vistas in each unit. Great Gulf has supported his vision wholeheartedly, and it has committed to launch as a good neighbor in our community,” said Chris Leavitt, Director of Sales for La Clara.

St. Barth Properties | Acerola Deck Dining

If you have been following Altima for a while, it is no secret that one of our absolute favorite destinations is St. Barts. The day we stop raving about it means we have finally dropped everything and moved there…

The island is known as the getaway for those “in the know” and comes with a high price tag, but it is the simplicity of the island that people fall in love with. Never underestimate the soothing power of pristine waters, picturesque cliffs and a bottle (or 5) of rosé. The French-speaking locals, sexy nightlife, and boho-chic shopping scene are just a bonus to the entire experience.

St. Barth Properties of Sotheby’s International Realty would like to introduce you to one of their most desirable listings – Villa ACEROLA on Camaruche. The romance of starting the morning off with an espresso and French pastries with no plans for the day other than lounging on the sprawling deck overlooking the panoramic ocean views begins the minute after you step off the plane.

The private 2-bedroom villa [now available from December 15, 2015- January 7, 2016] sits hillside featuring a contemporary living room, infinity swimming pool overlooking the picturesque landscape, outdoor fitness area, and inviting kitchen with a large island. The spot is perfect for entertaining family, friends and perhaps newer friends you have met during lunch at La plage (Tom Beach) or picnicking at Colombier.

The Related Group, known for their pioneering efforts in Palm Beach County, partnered with Altima to come up with some of the coolest, ‘out of the box’ concepts for their various projects.  What was slated to become ‘Icon Palm Beach’ and then for a short while ‘Trump Icon’ may not have come to fruition due to the economic crisis at the time, but they did secure over 40% sales with deposits on hand due to their (and ours (Altima)) out of the box thinking.  We were selling a lifestyle– We recreated Club 55 on North Flagler Drive with the help of Robert Pascale, brainchild behind La Piaggia and formerly of La Voile Rouge in St. Tropez… Then we brought in the sexiness of the Polo players, threw in the glam of Emilio Pucci.. and VOILA!   We hosted over 30 events, supported over 20 charities and catered to potential buyers in a way never experienced on this side of the Atlantic…

Our parties attracted the who’s who of the Polo community, (Nacho and Delfina Figueras, the Gracida brothers one of whom we miss dearly and was OUR ICONIC GUESTCarlos Gracida)  visiting celebrities such as John James better known as Mr. Big from Sex and the City and movie producer/founder of Evan Piccone Charles Evans)  and of course luxury brands such asEmilio Pucci, Hamilton Jewelers (who hosted an event for Tiger 21) as well as so many local charities we don’t have enough space to mention.

Deposits rolled in, everyone reserved their condo.. and then we only thanked God it was the Related group when the economy turned…..Related Group and their team honored their clients….   Good news:  Everyone was returned their monies, (Can’t say that about other projects in the neighborhood…)

I’m still trying to understand how this works.. According to a recent article I came across, Christie’s International Real Estate and its partner Dutch Docklands have taken ‘Private Island Living‘ to the next level.  According to Forbes Magazine,  “Amillarah Private Islands has created unique tailor-made floating residences designed by famed Dutch architect Koen Olthius.”  Not only will these islands be self-sustainable, eco-friendly and free from environmental impact, but you can take it wherever you want to create your own private paradise…  Customize your island and take it to… Miami? Maldives? Dubai? New York?

Even if I could afford it, not sure it would be my cup of tea…I prefer the ‘real thing’,  but no question this ‘over the top experience’ may be just the thing for some who have experienced just about everything…. Click here to read the article
