World-renowned fashion photographer and photojournalist, Patrick McMullan, famous for pioneering the celebrity and social photography business as an iconic brand, announced he will be in Palm Beach beginning of April for a private book-signing of four of his candidly illustrated books– Glamour Girls, InTents, Secrets of the Riviera and Kiss Kiss.

Glamour Girls boasts one of the largest collections of photographs ever published of the world’s most celebrated women, featuring over 1400 images and spanning Patrick’s career. Published Fall 2007, the book chronicles everything from the sophisticated galas of society, to the flirty Hollywood parties, to the famed New York nightlife and everything in between.

InTents is an unparalleled opus combining documentary and fashion photography in its most intimate moments. In a uniquely McMullan-esque take, InTents captures behind the scenes, catwalks and features quotes by the fashion world’s most famous players, chronicling the highly charged lives of supermodels, celebrities, and fashion editors during this electric week of shows. InTents also pays tribute to the machine behind the scenes—the stylists, photographers, publicists, hair and makeup artists, and all those who make it happen every season.

Secrets of the Riviera: A Photo Essay is a gorgeous full-color work featuring the world’s sexiest supermodels of today and tomorrow at their best: gliding down the catwalk, frantically preparing backstage and unwinding at the closely-watched festivities surrounding the Cannes Film Festival. All of Patrick’s favorite photos are here — of Tyra Banks, Laetitia Casta, Heidi Klum, Stephanie Seymour, Carmen Kass, Gisele Bundchen, and much, much more!

Kiss Kiss is a 304-page compilation of over 1,000 black and white and color images of kissing. KISS KISS captures the famous, the infamous, the beautiful, the talented and everyone in between. Kiss Kiss opens with an eloquent essay by world-renowned columnist Liz Smith. A joyful and entertaining book that spans 30 years full of passion and surprise.

“The kiss can be comic or serious, romantic and flattering… but Patrick has seen them all… an artist with his camera and almost no kiss is out of bounds for Patrick.”
–Liz Smith, from the introduction to KISS KISS

A limited number of these iconic illustrative mementos ranging in price from $40 to $120 will be available for purchase during the upcoming private book-signing first week of April. Worth Avenue’s Holden Luntz Gallery’s latest exhibition, “The Beasts of the Earth and the Spirit of Man,” was conceived by gallery owner Holden Luntz as a way of showcasing photography’s ability to visualize humanity in all forms, as well as the larger world with endless landscapes and creatures.
DAVID-YARROW-Desert-Flight-Amboseli-KenyaTB
“The sense of the show is that we all have some innate, non-visual sense of the world,” Luntz said. “We are kind of citizens of the planet now and I would hope that we, as human beings, have a connection to the earth and interest in preserving it. There are whole parts of the world that remain unknowable and photographers expand the world. If there is this invisible thread that unites us, what is that? Everybody will have a different answer to that question.”
Joyce-Tenneson-LarissaTB
The exhibit showcases the works of photographer David Yarrow, who travels to the ends of the earth in his quest to capture the harsh and endangered beauty of the natural world; Sebastiao Salgado, whose long-term projects are epic studies in humanity; Joyce Tenneson, whose focus is portrait photography that goes beyond the surface, resulting in ethereal images in an attempt to show the inner person; and John Dugdale, who creates poignant and intimate humanistic imagery using 19th century processes and aesthetics.

The Exhibition runs from March 7th to April 18th.

Guests will be treated to an entertaining evening complete with professional re-enactments of historical moments as well as a four course Culinary Dinner with an outstanding selection of Moët Hennessy wines. This wine and culinary experience is designed in the tradition of Thomas Jefferson’s love for France. Live auction items will include a historical trip to France, a bronze bust of Lafayette by Pierre Jean David d’Angers, and an exclusive painting of the Hermione by Laurent Dareau.

Miles Young, President of Friends of Hermione-Lafayette in America, and Worldwide Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Ogilvy & Mather explains: “Hermione Voyage 2015 celebrates the indomitable spirit of the Marquis de Lafayette, teen hero of the American Revolution and French Founding Father of the United States. It also marks the return of this historic tall ship to the iconic ports of the War of Independence, in one of the most remarkable and authentic reconstructions in the world. This ambitious project brings history alive while exemplifying Lafayette’s family motto “Why Not?”

The reconstructed Hermione, will make her grand U.S. return voyage in the summer of 2015. As the Hermione moves up the Eastern seaboard (with stops in Yorktown, Mount Vernon, Alexandria, Annapolis, Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York, Greenport, Newport, Boston, Castine and Lunenburg). It will be accompanied by a range of pier side activities. These include in some ports a Traveling Exhibition and a Heritage Village that will be accessible to the public. The Hermione Voyage 2015 is part of an expansive outreach program with cultural events, exhibitions, and educational programs that celebrate the trip and mark its progress. A robust social media activation for the voyage expands the reach of the project to millions of people.

Though the event was strictly private with the guest list limited to close friends of Marzia’s and her co-hosts Lori Stoll and Lori Bernstein, over 30 parents and their children were in attendance. Rosey Alumni including Bill Mann class of 1940; Maribel Alvarez class of ’76 and her son Robert Riva, class of 2007 were also present to answer questions from inquisitive parents. Result: 6 students were signed up on the spot for the Rosey camp and another 8 pending!

Marzia and her co-hosts Lori Stoll and Lori Bernstein understand the value of the multic-cultural experience Rosey offers. “My husband is American. I am Italian and an attorney. We believe it is crucial for our children to speak several languages and grow up in an environment where they are exposed to multiple cultures. It not only opens their horizons, but will provide them with opportunities they otherwise would not have. By allowing them to experience Le Rosey, we rest assured we are offering them a gift and tools for the future,” says Marzia Precoda, Palm Beach Day Academy 2015 Gala Chair.

After starting his career in the open wheel ranks and then moving to sports car racing, Guy Cosmo has long been checking off a wide range of boxes on his career to-do list. And this weekend will see one more item marked off the list as Cosmo is set to make his Pirelli World Challenge debut.

The versatile racer has been tabbed by M1 Racing (http://m1racing.co) to pilot the No. 23 Tampa Bay Jaw Surgery Audi R8 LMS ultra as World Challenge opens the 2015 season at the Circuit of the Americas this weekend.

The visit to the 3.418-mile circuit is not the first for Cosmo, who already knows the way to the podium at the Texas track, having scored a runner up finish in ALMS competition aboard a P2 entry. Cosmo has driven a range of GT machinery on the circuit including testing the Ferrari Challenge 458 platform at the picturesque track. Cosmo opened the year as reserve driver for the visitflorida.com line up at the Rolex 24, and the popular pilot is looking forward to his first taste of World Challenge action this weekend.

“Pirelli World Challenge has seen incredible growth in the past few years and this season in particular will be extremely competitive,” said Cosmo. “The sprint format will be a welcome change for me where I can focus on myself and the car without the compromise of a teammate, and to do all this at a world-class race track like Circuit of the Americas is just fantastic. I am ready to rip.”

The weekend will open up with a test day on Thursday, with Race 1 set for Saturday afternoon and Race 2 on Sunday. Live streaming of the race will be available at www.world-challenge.tv.
