Palm Beach Defined

That person, place or thing that defines Palm Beach

THE GREEN FRONTIER

It’s been named one of the top farmer’s markets in the country by USA Today and others. And it just opened for business this past weekend. With almost three decades of history, it’s not just a place to buy produce, but a collective for finding unique hostess gifts, small-batch skincare, local honey, exotic juices, meats, seafood and so much more. Located along the scenic West Palm waterway, it was started as a way to bring a European outdoor shopping experience to Palm Beach and a means to bring neighbors together.

Bike, park, walk or even dock your boat and enjoy the people watching, the musical numbers and the take-home treats. With temperatures sliding down, there’s never been a better time to be outside.

Below, a list of some of our favorite West Palm Beach Greenmarket vendors –though with a record-breaking 110 vendors this year–this list is by no means definitive. What are your favorites? We’d love to hear.

Open Every Saturday from 9AM-1PM.

Cider Doughnut Factory Outlet Yes, you will wait in line; and yes the line is long. Are they worth it? Uh, that would be a hell yes. These donuts are light, billow and have just the right hint of cider. Served warm and in retro-cones, you may want to double that order!

Ceviche and Guacamole House The name says it all. The most delicious, lime-spiked, flavorful ceviche in small and large containers. Exotic Latin juices include mango lime and passion guanabana. They also sell a tremendously rich guacamole, that when paired with a bag of their chips, you have a healthy lunch or dinner.

Heavenly Orchids You can’t go wrong with flowers, especially ones that will last for months and come in the most vibrant, tropical colors and patterns (we love the speckled orchids!). This is not your grocery store variety.

Pumphouse This local, java operation sources the highest quality beans, then roasts and grinds them to deliver some powerful, caffeinated goodness. If you are craving a fix on other days, they also have outposts at Grandview Public and in Jupiter.

Les Montagne des Saveurs The most magnificent cheeses sourced directly from various towns throughout France. Cheese and accoutrements, an orchid and a bottle of wine? We think you’ll be invited to that party again.

Bare Roots Organics Located in Jupiter, this organic aquaponic farm is revolutionizing how we grow greens with a minimal footprint. Batavia, Red Oak Leaf lettuce, and Radicchio are just some of the current lettuces sold this month.
