Mona de Sayve and Natasha Pinto Thomaz embrace their passion for jewelry and  collective experiences to create a superbly curated trunk show

Meet Mona & Natasha Tues., April 13 through  Sat., April 17 at Alvin Valley’s atelier,  36 Via Mizner, Palm Beach

De Sayve, Comtesse de Sayve, to be precise and Pinto-Thomaz credit their honed eyes largely to Bvlgari, where both initiated their careers as part of the original team, under the auspices of Nicola Bulgari in the early seventies.  Their collection includes unique and iconic pieces from David Webb, Boucheron, Marina B, and Temple St. Clair. Also, Pomellato, De Grisogono, and Dunay.

For 25 years, Bvlgari was Mona’s career, like a continuing PhD program!  “I was in sales, operations, and marketing and worked closely with the design team, which included the talented Bulgari brothers. Today, the atelier is a marquis brand in the LVMH portfolio,” Mona shares.

The Bvlgari pedigree wasn’t where Mona’s avocation began, however.

“Palm Beach has been my home since I was three. After Palm Beach Private School (now Palm Beach Day Academy), I finished school in Switzerland and completed college in Florence. All three places have a pedigree in fine jewels, and each informed my personal aesthetic.”

Mona and Natasha were often part of buying trips with Nicola Bulgari, scouring the world for the finest stones and materials. A certified gemologist, Mona has used her trained eye to curate a broad collection specifically for Palm Beach.  The duo will be available to explain the provenance and design history of each piece.

Mona is particularly fond of the special Victorian pieces in the show.

“Victorian is on trend right now, because it is surprisingly versatile. It looks fabulous at evening cocktails, or on a day stroll in t-shirt and jeans,” says de Sayve.

Mona uses her skills and talents as an accomplished and busy interior designer (Mona de Sayve Interiors) following in the footsteps of her mother, Ann Downey, whose practice thrived internationally for over 40 years. Mona’s discerning eye for beauty has made her a fixture in and around Palm Beach.

The exquisite jewelry collection will be on display from April 13- April 17th at Alvin Valley’s private atelier located at
36 Via Mizner in Palm Beach.  Walk-ins welcomed.
