Eye on Hamptons Happenings

Le Bilboquet

Hamptons Tales from Flies on the Wall

It seems like all of Palm Beach is in the Hamptons this month as temperatures and Covid cases rise here and level off there,  so I asked a few friends to share some tidbits and keep some of us entertained.

Most are entertaining at home, but with the nicer weather, restaurants like Le Bilboquet in Sag Harbor are gaining some traction. Traffic in the Hamptons was backed-up on Saturday night due to Trump’s $500,000 per couple fundraiser at billionaire John Paulson’s home on Lake Agawam in Southampton Village, at which he appeared briefly before heading to Bridgehampton for a second fundraiser at the house his son, Don Jr., shares with girlfriend, Kimberly Guilfoyle, an advisor to Trump’s re-election campaign.

Nevertheless, Christine Schott and husband George Ledes were able to celebrate her daughter, Whitney Schott’s 25th birthday with a few friends including Tyler Tananbaum at Le Bilboquet Sag Harbor.  Ryan Thomas Roth, Alexa Greenfield and other pals were spotted, too. After starters including Shrimp Cocktail and the Crab Avocado, Whitney had the restaurant’s signature “Cajun Chicken” (Poulet Cajun, Beurre Blanc, which is owner Philippe Delgrange’s own recipe), while the others enjoyed the 32oz. dry aged rib-eye, all of which was served with greens and pommes frites, and a lovely Bordeaux. In lieu of cake, the mousse au chocolat avec crème fouettée was served with a bottle of Laurent Perrier and a candle. Sparklers are not allowed at the umbrella tables, and masks are de rigueur until seated, and take-out is available.

Side note:  Can’t wait for Le Bilboquet Palm Beach to open this season in Via Encantada!  Philippe, we are waiting for you with open arms!

We also heard that like in Palm Beach, the market in the Hamptons is experiencing quite the uptick! The five-acre oceanfront estate located on swanky Spaeth Lane,  owned by the late Life Savers heiress, June Noble Smith Larkin Gibson, has hit the market for $72 million.
