New Executive Director Tom Pearson, who took over leadership earlier this year at West Palm Beach’s Armory Art Center has made his top priority to increase the Armory’s presence in the community. He is excited to kick off this effort with some new high-profile special events. In December, the focus is on families with the new Arts Festival to be followed up by a Art/Music/Fashion-oriented event in January.
Poised to be one of West Palm’s new favorite pre-holiday events, the First Annual West Palm Beach Arts Festival presented by PNC Arts Alive is scheduled for Saturday December 3rd and Sunday December 4th from 10 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Armory Art Center Campus at 1700 Parker Avenue.
“This is an ideal family weekend to enjoy quality art and music with perfect timing for holiday shopping!” said Armory Executive Director Dr. Tom Pearson. The exhibitors at this juried festival were selected from 158 artists from around the country to serve a wide-range of tastes from youth to sophisticated art buyers. Children from ages 5 to 10 will enjoy creating holiday crafts in the Kid’s Zone while their parents are shopping for holiday gifts of unique art.
In addition to the great variety of art presented, the West Palm Beach Arts Festival will feature music, demonstrations, and popular food trucks. Featured performers include the Roaring Kelly Band, Orchid City Brass Band, Psychic Ghost, Les Nuages with Frank Cerabino, and PB State College Jazz Quintet, Quartet, & Sextet. Parking is available at the Dreyfoos School of the Arts with a shuttle running to and from the Armory. Click here for more information and to view complete Festival Schedule
