A recent visit to Meat Market on what was expected to be a quiet Tuesday evening turned out to be a stumble into a well-attended Summer on the Scene event to celebrate the efforts of Palm Beach Island Cats.  Several Board Members of the organization including George Palladino, Allen and Zelda Mason and Executive Director Leslie Moss were on hand to answer questions about the humane work conducted 365 days a year by this local organization which receives no government funding.

Bold-faced names from The Palm Beaches sampled Executive Chef Sean Brasel’s culinary creations while learning more about the how Palm Beach Island Cats provides food, sterilization, vaccines and other medical care to the Island’s feral felines.

One of the leading organizations in the country conducting trap, neuter, and release programs for feral cats, Palm Beach Island Cats advocates responsible pet ownership.  Their efforts on behalf of the Island’s forgotten felines are not only humane, but also serve public health interests.

Donations to this 501 (c) (3) organization are graciously accepted and tax deductible.  For more information or to make a contribution, please visit www.PBIslandCats.org

From Ascot to Aspen, international photographer whose permanent display of collectable works hang in Worth Avenue’s The Silver Fund, continues to collect accolades on both sides of the Pond. Last year, Astrid was commissioned as an Official Arts Photographer for England’s Royal Ascot and this year (July), a collection of her remarkable unseen works of horses from around the world will be unveiled at Aspen’s Gallery 1949.

Renowned for her compelling, sensitive portraiture of horses, cats and dogs, her fine art photographs sell to a global audience with private commissions taking her around the world. When last in Palm Beach, Astrid’s attention was snared by the work of Palm Beach Island Cats.  She donated time and energy documenting some of the hundreds of homeless cats cared for the charity. These “forgotten felines” are fed daily, sterilized, vaccinated and cared for by Palm Beach Island Cats, a local organization which advocates responsible pet ownership.

ESCAPE, TRAVEL, LIVE

It’s Motto Escape, Travel, Live suggests the ‘experience’ you get the moment you walk in to an Island Company boutique.   You feel transported to an island paradise and you begin to experience it’s surroundings.  In my case, I imagine myself in the turquoise waters of St. Barth’s
Spencer Antle, Island Company Creative Director and Founder, took island fashion to the next level.

Experience is paramount, product is secondary, quality is a given,” says Antle

ISLAND-COMPANY.RCFL1.LIsland Company announces its largest store yet, at the recently renovated Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale. Beachside bungalow meets resort retreat in this 3,500 square foot branded store. As the third location in Florida, this store is a destination directly on the beach of A1A. Island Company at The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale is the company’s sixth property and the first located within a resort.

“We have been selling to Ritz-Carlton properties for over ten years,” explains Antle. “We’ve kept Island Company exclusive, building it in locations where the brand is special. The Ritz-Carlton needed the complete Island Company experience and I think this store fully embodies our ideals.”
